Pain and Injury Recovery

Acupuncture is frequently used in the treatment of pain (chronic and acute) and following injury to promote recovery.

Current evidence suggests acupuncture may be helpful in a number of musculo-skeletal conditions including shoulder pain, lower back pain, neck pain, lateral elbow pain, migraines, post-surgical pain and osteo-arthritis knee pain. In practice, acupuncture is used in support of a vast range of musculo-skeletal conditions – both acute and chronic, and for both injury related conditions or those attributable to a gradual process.

Acupuncture is used to assist in injury recovery by reducing pain, improving mobility and releasing tension.

In New Zealand, ACC subsidise acupuncture for injuries with a valid ACC claim (within 12 months from date of injury) making it an affordable and safe form of treatment.

Tracey has a lot of experience in the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions including neck pain, back pain, sciatica, tendinitis, frozen shoulder, carpal tunnel, tennis elbow and many more. She will often combine therapeutic massage and other forms of Chinese medicine therapy (such as cupping or gua sha) to maximise treatment effect.

Cost of ACC covered treatment is $25 per session, with sessions usually lasting between 45-60 minutes.
